For some very special people back home!

Most of you won't understand any of what I'm about to write. This blog is for all my kids at YSPIRIT.

To Kate: Can you name all seven dwarfs? What color is Snow White's dress? Do you still have your butter tub?

To Hector: You're fired!

To Marie: Chick-a-mama! Flower! Beast! Daughter!

To Chris: DIRT! Book!

To Alex: What's in your CD player right now? Have you done anymore Yoga?

To Naeelah: Guess what I watched on TV yesterday? TEEN TITANS! Oh and how tall are you now? Do you remember the day of my birthday?

To Erica: Are you having fun with the puppies? First thing when I come home we're going to Starbucks!

To Lisa Joy: I think maybe you should come with me and Erica to Starbucks! We can split a strawberry frappuccino again! Have you gotten any new computer games lately?

To Morgan: Who ate the cookies in the cookie jar?

To Jessica: Get any new Barbies lately?

I love and miss you all tons! Can't wait to see you in the summer!! -Miss Rebecca

I'm having issues...

Yesterday I got sushi for lunch and while trying to bring it back to my room I dropped it. I was able to salvage one piece. Today after my workout I got my lunch to go from the cafeteria. I made myself a nice chicken salad with ranch dressing and got some fruit on the side. I was hungry and very much looking forward to my food (you might be able to guess where this story is going). I got about two bites of my salad and ended up having to clean ranch dressing off the floor. Hopefully I don't drop my dinner too.

*DMC*

I swear nothing cures the blues more for me than some good deep meaningful conversation (dmc). I've found the last couple of weeks here kind of hard. They haven't been terrible and I haven't been particularly sad, but neither have I really been happy. Things are going well with the roommate, with friends, and classes. However, things have not been going well with me and G-O-D. Many factors have contributed to me having a bit of a hard time adjusting here in that area. Most of all, being back at school full time it's been really hard for me to have a quiet time. All I want to do when I'm done with classes is lay on my bed, watch Oprah, and eat pretzels . There's also the fact that I really don't know most of the songs they sing in church and Crusade. That makes it hard to get into worship. Finally, I miss my mentoring group from home!! There is nothing like having people who know everything about you help keep you accountable. Everyone should have a mentor! :) After Church last Sunday me and a girl from Crusade went out for coffee. I wasn't planning on telling her how things were going but the conversation just ended up there. She was super encouraging and understanding. She shared with me her testimony and some of the struggles she's had. Before we left we agreed to have a mini accountability thing with each other. We're each going to come up with one thing we learned in our quiet time during the week, and share it with each other at the end of the week, either on the phone, in person, or through email. I left that whole time at Starbucks almost two hours later and feeing so much better! I LOVE GOOD CONVERSATION!

One rather embarrassing picture...

Hmmm...I'm thinking I might regret putting this up. Oh well! :) Every week we either have FUN night or movie night in the dorm. Last week was FUN night so we broke out all our games including Twister. We all know that Twister can put you in some awkward looking positions. Here is one my roommate and I found ourselves in. It's really not as bad as it looks. Hope it at least gives you a little chuckle!

Toboggans and BBQ

Here's a question for ya'll. Can anyone tell me what a toboggan is?? No, it's not a sled like you initially might think. In the South it was what we California folk call a beanie. A girlfriend of mine who's from North Carolina had never even heard the word beanie!! I could hardly believe that. Oh the many things I'm learning!

My and my toboggan!!

I've also been informed recently that I eat the "weird" kind of barbeque. I guess down here the barbeque is viniger based and our tomatoe based red sauce isn't something they are used to.
