It's been a while but here's the summary on Spring Break

In one word my spring break was exhausting. It was also absolutely wonderful. I guess that's two words. My spring break was wonderfully exhausting! For those who don't know, I went to New York City with a group of fellow students from Campus Crusade here at ECU. In the city we did a variety of things. We had what you might call informational sessions about life in the city and the people who live there. We also discussed the more predominant world/religious views that young people hold in the city, and how Crusade has been working to reach those young people. We assisted the Crusade office, conducting surveys about religion and spirituality, and doing some basic street evangelism at college campuses in the city. During that time I learned a lot about myself. I think I've always felt really inadequate sharing my faith because I didn't have the Bible knowledge to back it up. During our training time one of the leaders was sharing that when Jesus was evangelism he responded to questions with questions. Honestly, when I heard that it was like one of those cartoon light bulbs went off in my head. Ding! I realized that while I may not know the Bible in and out, I understand what I believe enough to hopefully ask people thought provoking questions. Besides, asking questions is one of my favorite things to do. :) That training time helped me to be more confident as I went out to speak with other students. And finally in the time left over we got to do a little site seeing! Among other things we saw Central Park, Ground Zero, The Statue of Liberty, Time Square, Rockefeller Plaza, and the Lion King on Broadway. Like I said my spring break was wonderfully exhausting!! Here just a few of many pictures of my time in NY.
